Information Technology is a big industry. And it’s getting bigger. U.S. industries spent as much as 7.2 percent of revenues on IT last year nationwide. IT workers represent nearly 12.7 percent of total employment at companies with 20 or more employers. And IT spending in various industry segments is as high as $20,000 per employee. Colorado also has the highest concentration of technology jobs in the country: 89 of every 1,000 private sector workers are classified as high-tech. And according to labor statistics, IT jobs will represent most of the state's job growth through 2012. All together, there are more than 10,300 high-tech establishments in the state – 11th nationwide. Despite the importance of technology in Colorado, there have been few resources dedicated tokeeping up with the fast-paced developments in this critical industry segment ... until now.
